Motherhood-Staying home-a great choice
I really enjoy being a mom. I thought that working gave my fulfillment and satisfaction. But I really don't mind it. I enjoy staying home with my baby boy. I get to be the one taking care and playing with him. We work on the skills he needs to learn together. I get to take him with me where ever I go. I get to see people smile at him. I get to see him grow and the changes in him throughout the day. I am so blessed to stay home with him. Even when it gets hard or a little lonely I remember that I wouldn't trade it for the world. Staying home is not only fulfilling but good for my soul. It allows me to focus on what's important in life and also support my husband emotionally. Whenever I feel like its getting hard I just look into those beautiful little blue eyes and know I wouldn't have it any other way.

political views/voting
I was watching a preacher on TV today and he had some enlightening things to say. The challenge: "How can we vote for a political party if we do not share their core values?" If part of my core value is the sanctity of life then how could I vote for somebody who is pro choice? It seems like every Christian should go back and think about what their core values are (hopefully they are Biblically based) and really pray about who we should be voting for in elections. We should continue to pray for the people who are running our government and hope that they leading of the Holy Spirit with be followed.
Its important to think about our core values and what we believe. The immorality running rampant in our society will suck us in if we don't. I continue to find area's in which I have compromised. I pray: search me and find any hidden sin within me and bring it to light so I can pray for forgiveness.
Its not always easy to walk out of a movie or to change the channel when your favorite shows incorporate compromising situations. Holding onto what is scared is all we have to set us apart as Christians. Remember when David was tempted by Pharoh's wife...........he said "I am getting as far away as possible from this sin". We too need to stay away from compromising situations and circumstances which would cause us to compromise or sin. An addict never wakes up morning and says.......I think I want to be addicted today...........it is a process......it takes giving in each time to become an addict, and then one day its too late.........so be in the world.........but not of the world. Love people but its okay abstain, refrain, stay away from things/situations that would cause us to compromise. Our kids are watching us more closely than we realize.

Lutheran Split
This is interesting. The Lutheran church will split due to disagreeing on what which part of the Bible is relevant to our society. Its amazing that this is what it has come to in our society. Basically the argument comes down to: is it okay for ministers to live an active gay lifestyle. I read a book recently, it said that if we no longer believe the Word of God to be the inspired Word of God without any fallacy...........then we can't be sure of our own faith. If we can not be sure of our salvation then we can not be sure Christ died for us. So as Christians believing that the Word of God is inspired and accurate in its entirety is important. The Bible is clear on the issue of any kind of sex before marriage. That it is a sin. Praise the Lord for his grace and mercy..........but if we know we are sinning and continue in our sin then is one truly saved? Choose ye today who you will serve. The choice is clear. We must turn from our sinful lifestyle if we are to follow Jesus. One foot in the world and one in foot in the church isn't going to cut it. Another scripture found in the book of James states: a house divided will not stand. When I have sinned I need to ask for forgiveness and do my best to turn from the sinful behavior. If we do sin we can not let that distract us from getting back on track with God.......because of the shame, guilt and hurt sin causes.......its too easy to fall into that death trap that we can not be forgiven. The Bible teaches us that if we ask for forgiveness Jesus will forgive us of our sins. (this does not give us a license to sin). The devil is here to steal, kill and destroy and as my father in law says "anything that can be shaken will be." Stay on guard and let the Word become you!
the shack
I urge people to be careful what they read. I know this book is controversial in the Christian community. I felt a quickening to put the book in the trash after reading only a few chapters. This book I believe has good intentions but its underlying messages are scary. A few false messages in the book include-many roads lead to heaven. Its okay to listen to any kind of music as long as it has a good beat. We need to realize that all music we listen to goes to our spirit. We wouldn't eat garbage why should we put garbage in our mind? Music is powerful, we should not dismiss that fact. I also feel that the book touches on being sacrilegious and defaming God's name. Such literature is dangerous because it is so subtle. Remember the song "be careful little eyes what you see".......remember everything we read and do, influences us. We can't let false teachings get into our spirit.

new baby
So we were really bummed when we lost our first baby. But now baby Towner is on the way. We can't wait to meet him. Pregnancy makes me so tired but its worth it. It stinks that my baby shower is postphoned due to the winter storm. But I wouldn't want people to drive in the snow. I am trusting God to meet our needs. I will have to take unpaid time off and also because my husband is a student we will have little to go around. All this would not be so bad but my special diet is very expensive. Eating gluten free because of a food allergy complicates things a little difficult. I am so thankful that we can get a discount on daycare because my employer provides daycare. But still with insurance and diapers and doctors visits I wonder if i should just find a better paying job. Staying home is not an option because we still rely on my pay to pay the bills. It will all work out. We have waited 7.5 years for our little blessing. I believe being an undiagnosed celiac for years could have prevented pregnancy from happening sooner. Considering everything the timing is good. I wouldn't have completed my dream of working with kids as a counselor and finishing my Master's in School Counseling and my husband wouldn't be in a program to complete his PhD.
